Michaels Arts and Crafts Store: A Review

Michaels Arts and Crafts Store may be the largest arts and crafts store chain in the world. This is one of the reasons why this business has been able to remain profitable over such a long period of time. From easels to paint brushes, they have everything an artist or crafter needs at affordable prices. This company has worked hard over the years to ensure that it has satisfied customers who will be repeat buyers. If you are looking for an arts and crafts store that can meet all your needs, you should consider going to Michaels Arts and Crafts Store to fulfill your supply needs.

Why I Went?

My three-year-old daughter loves arts and crafts, so I was excited to hear about a new Michaels that opened up not too far from our house. I thought it would be the perfect place for us to spend the weekend making something together. We went there last week, and even though it was hard to find at first (something I should have seen coming) once we were inside my daughter had a blast choosing different materials to make an elephant mask with me.

The selection was great, and there was more than enough room for both of us in each aisle. Plus, they had baskets everywhere so you could carry your projects around easily without having to search for something else you might need- genius!

What Do They sell?

I’m going to give this place 4 out of 5 stars. It is fairly clean with plenty of room. It has a lot of different crafting materials, but it doesn’t seem as cheap as some other stores that I have visited in the past. The employees are friendly, though it is kind of hard to communicate with them because there isn’t always someone that speaks English.

Overall, it is a good store for what I need – art supplies for when I am at home. However, if you’re looking for something specific like clothes or food, you’re better off shopping elsewhere. There is one thing about this store that I find frustrating: they have a price on everything, but it seems arbitrary since no one ever uses cash anymore. One time I bought four things from the register and my total were $15-30!

How Do You Shop?

Every week I hit up Michaels arts and crafts store for some crafting supplies. This is a well-stocked, classic arts and crafts store. I can find just about everything that I need for crafting here, from paints to stamps. The staff are usually very helpful in directing me towards what I’m looking for which makes my time there much more enjoyable.

But their help doesn’t stop at picking out the supplies that you need. Often they can teach you how to use them as well! You’ll find experts on every floor of the store willing to help teach classes or answer questions that you may have about particular techniques or materials.

I love coming here because it really feels like an extended craft family. They know your name and greet you by it when you walk through the door; It feels like everyone knows who I am even if we’ve never met before. It’s such a welcoming environment, always stocked with good conversation and plenty of laughter–I feel right at home here. So do you visit Michael’s often? What do you think of this place?

Customer Service At Michaels Arts And Crafts Stores

I have been shopping at Michaels arts and crafts store for over five years now. They have always been a pleasure to shop at. I started buying my daughter her craft supplies there when she was in kindergarten, but now I find myself going there more often to purchase arts and crafts supplies for me! The customer service is always excellent no matter who you talk to in the store.

Today I had the opportunity to speak with two different people who were waiting on customers, but as soon as they finished helping them, they came up to me with a big smile on their faces asking if I needed help finding anything. It felt like both of them knew exactly what I wanted before I even asked for it. One of the employees told me that this is just what we do here and that our goal is to make every experience as good as possible because we want our customers to come back again and again.

When I was checking out the cashier asked me how my day went and then thanked me for coming into the store. I can’t wait to get home and start playing with all these new arts and crafts materials!

Purchasing Options

If you’re in the market for arts and crafts supplies, there are few other stores that can compete with Michael’s. They carry almost every color, shape, size, and type of material for crafting on one storewide level. The workers are always helpful, knowledgable, and happy to help you find whatever it is you’re looking for. Additionally, their coupons make shopping even more cost-effective.

Although this location is a bit out of the way from me (only 15 minutes away) I like that they have so many different products because when I can’t find what I’m looking for at my usual grocery store or convenience store then it really helps to be able to go just around the corner!

It also makes it easy to do some quick last-minute Christmas shopping without having to deal with all the crowds that tend to accumulate during December. In addition, they often offer discounts on certain brands which only adds to the affordability factor. One thing I don’t like about this store is that most of the workbenches seem a little too crowded for my liking but if you don’t mind standing near someone else while working then it’s not much of an issue.

The store has locations all over the country, with a sizable amount in California. Being at a store is quite impressive because they carry so many items in stock. They carry just about every type of craft idea you can think of, including knitting, painting, sewing, scrapbooking, and more. The various crafting areas are very neat and organized to get you exactly what you need quickly.

You’ll find a huge variety of paper crafts that range from origami to card making. They also have office supplies for your home or office needs as well as kids’ crafts for those young budding artists or storytellers out there. There are just so many options that everyone is bound to find something interesting no matter what age group they are shopping with.

Michael’s provides educational classes on various topics as well. These classes offer people the opportunity to learn new skills while socializing and meeting new people who share their interests. If you don’t know how to do anything related to arts and crafts, it’s okay-you’re not alone! The helpful staff members are always willing to give advice on how things work when it comes time for purchase.

What Else Do I Need To Know?

If you’re looking for a store with a variety of crafting materials, Michaels is worth visiting. Michaels has everything from sewing machines to fabric to glassware. They also have some general craft items like paint and markers, but not nearly as many options as an arts-and-crafts store. If you’re more interested in that type of product then I would suggest Hobby Lobby or Joann Fabric which are both within a 10-minute drive.

Overall I had a positive experience with this Michael’s location, I would be happy to go back again next time I need to buy crafting supplies or have something made. I find the staff at Michael’s on Wilson Road to be knowledgeable and helpful, which was what attracted me to their store. I didn’t encounter any pushy salespeople like at other stores but they were eager to offer suggestions when asked about what products might work best for my project.

There were a few things about the layout of the store that took some getting used to (for example, it seems confusing at first glance) but once you get your bearings it becomes much easier. All in all, if you’re looking for a crafts supply shop or someone who can make things out of raw materials, Michaels may be just what you’re looking for.

Final Thoughts on Michaels Arts And Crafts Stores

Craft stores have been around for a while, but they don’t seem to be going anywhere. Whether it’s Michael’s Arts and Craft store, Hobby Lobby, or Joann Fabrics, crafting is now a way of life for people of all ages. I came across Michaels on my college campus when I needed markers for my daughter.

Once inside, I felt like I was lost in a sea of possibilities that could transform me into the maker that I always wanted to be as a child. There were shelves with every conceivable craft supply imaginable brushes, paint, beads–and there were neat craft tables stocked with instructions on how to create great things.
